  1. Excellent conversation that is helpful. As a traditional dispensationalist I think you did a somewhat fair representation in the beginning. I would just offer this clarification of our position that contradicts what you said. Traditional dispensationalists argue that the ten commandments are still in effect because they have been restated within the New Testament, not because they were part of the Law of Moses. You did mention the Law of Christ, which is the real emphasis. By an emphasis on the Law of Moses many Christians ignore the hundreds of commands and prohibitions that are found in the New Testament; all of which God would want us to follow. A classic example is John 14:1, which is a prohibition, let not your heart be troubled. Jesus commands us not to worry, and to assure us, so we won’t worry Jesus emphasized that He is going to prepare a place for us in heaven.
